GUARANTEED SAFE CHECKOUT
The Steel Hitch provides the critical connection between your Burley Trailer and your bicycle. It installs easily on the rear skewer of your bike and remains attached, allowing you to connect the Burley at any time. If you'd like to swap the Burley from bike to bike, you can pick up a few spare hitches and install them on the extra bikes, eliminating the need to un-install the hitch when switching bicycles.
The Steel Hitch is designed to fit most bikes out of the box, but if you have a Breezer-style dropout or another unusual setup, you may require an adapter. The hitch is compatible with disc brakes and full-suspension systems, but it does not fit Breezer-style dropouts.
The Steel Hitch is designed to work with both quick-release (QR) axles and solid axles up to 12mm in diameter. If you have a 12mm thru-axle, you'll need to use Burley's adapted thru-axle, which has external threading to accommodate the installation of the axle-mounted hitches.
If you're upgrading from a Classic Hitch to a Steel Hitch, you'll also need to purchase a Burley Flex Connector.
